This insertion loss test system streamlines and automates the bi-directional insertion loss test.

The insertion loss on both source wavelengths is measured accurately and quickly in both direction. The internal Laser or LED sources are available at most common wavelengths. Dual wavelength operation (1310nm/1550nm) for singlemode or (850nm/1300nm) for multimode fiber makes this a most efficient measuring process. FOr LED sources the controlled launch condition is according to IEC standards.

This system is expandable to multichannel operation by adding a customer specific 2xN optical switch.

Like all other OptoTest equipment the OP831 supports the high speed USB interface for remote control. The OPL-PRO turnkey application software fully integrates this instrument into the data acquisition process of the high efficient production line.
