We specifically designed
the OP710 for measurement tasks where optical power levels of multiple
fibers have to be captured simultaneously. Making no compromises, we focused
on implementing a solid power meter for each channel that communicates at
high data rates with a USB capable communications processor that controls
the data acquisition the user interface, and interacts with a Windows
workstation. The result: a power meter that operates on 24 channels at once.

The OP500 series are the first
USB optical power meters for the fiber optics industry. These small modules
contain what usually is found in state-of-the-art GPIB operated fiber optic
power meters. By eliminating bulky GPIB connectors, AC powered supplies and
heat dissipating electronics OptoTest implemented a precision optical power
meter at a fraction of the cost and in a much smaller space. |

All the OP500 models are based
on the same basic fundamental building blocks: the refined optical power
meter circuit, the ultra low power RISC processors and the USB 1.1
compatible power and data interface. The built in flexibility allows various

The OP510 is a high
precision optical power meter module powered by the USB. The 16 position
dual-color bargraph indicates the power level being measured. In relative
mode the bargraph quickly shows the level of loss with a selectable
resolution of up to 0.1dB. Various detector options and optical interfaces
are available including the 5/8" adapter system. In addition the OP510
offers all the features of the OP508.
