The OP930 series served as the premier option for insertion loss and return loss testing in both laboratory and production settings for over 15 years. With the release of our third generation of insertion loss and return loss meters, the OP960 series, we would like to inform our customers that the OP930 series, which had already been superseded by the OP940 in 2014, is now in conditional support status.
There are many OP930s still in use today, which serves as a testament to the longevity and reliability of OptoTest products. It is extremely unfortunate that these items can no longer be repaired easily. Their age makes them difficult to work on, in many cases, impractical to repair due to parts obsolescence. If a unit is unrepairable, we suggest purchasing the latest OptoTest insertion loss and return loss test instrument, the OP960 system.
Calibration and repolishing services remain available for the OP930 series. A new inspection fee will be applied to non-functional OP930s that includes up to six hours of diagnostic time. Diagnostic evaluations are to determine the feasibility of repair. If repairs are possible, additional fees may apply.
